As associate publisher for OC Publishing

In 2023, I accepted the invitation of long-time client Anne O’Connell of OC Publishing to join her one-person, hybrid (partner) publishing company as associate publisher. In this position, I have relished the opportunity to collaborate closely with authors on every aspect of turning their manuscript into a book, from the editing, to brainstorming cover ideas, working closely with professional designers on the cover and interior design, liaising with the proofreader, editing the back-cover copy, finding authors to write advance reviews (blurbs)—all the things publishers do. I see this as a natural and fulfilling evolution of my career in the book publishing industry. The titles in this subsection are ones for which I took the lead in publication.

L.M. Montgomery

Nimbus Publishing has worked with Montgomery researcher Carolyn Strom Collins to publish her transcriptions of the original manuscripts of Montgomery’s novels Anne of Green Gables and The Blue Castle. Collins also compiled twenty-seven short stories by Montgomery that had never been published beyond their first appearance in various magazines during Montgomery’s lifetime. As a lifelong lover of Anne of Green Gables, in particular, it was my great honour to be asked to edit these books for Nimbus.
